Wading Through Grey
By Margaret M. Reynolds
Subjects: Feminist literature
Description: Wading Through Grey is a collection of four short stories that examines a few of life’s more ambiguous situations. All are works of creative short fiction, and all deal with themes of sexuality, escapism, travel, character growth, and the trials of maintaining intimate relationships. The stories are connected in several ways. First, the main character in eve ry story is a young woman, yet the point of view from which the stories are told dramatically changes from tale to tale. In addition, each narrative attempts to challenge the black and white way in which certain situations, like sexual violence, are frequently viewed. Finally, all the stories place more importance on character than plot.
