Description: Since the 1890 U. S. census was totally destroyed by fire, this publication will provide an alternative substitute for determining the residents of this old northeast Louisiana parish (county). Because nearly all families paid some sort of property tax, almost every family is represented. Names, addresses (plantation or town), Ward of residence, all taxable property and amount of acreage, land locations and values (for land and homeowners) are listed.
