Description: A children's story book about a young man named Lucio--an immigrant from Italy to America. His donkey, Cocolo is also an immigrant. The donkey becomes home sick, and Lucio takes him home. While on their native island of Ravaya-Reena, the two discover that their home has changed so much, it isn't really home anymore. Returning to the mainland of Italy, Cocolo is separated from Lucio and put to work hauling heavy loads of melons for a local farmer. Lucio finally recovers his donkey and the two of them return to America. In America, Lucio's female friend "Fussy" takes a romantic interest in Lucio. Cocolo discovers that his "wife" Carmen, has given birth to a baby donkey, whom Cocolo is only too proud to help care for. A cute story with a twist of old world charm, a study in poverty and human nature as well as friendship, love, and counting one's blessings.
