Description: Father Hennepin was sent to New France in 1675. He was at first assigned to Quebec, where he spent part of each year as an itinerant missionary. He then spent two years at Fort Frontenac on Lake Ontario before being assigned to accompany La Salle on an exploratory expedition. From that point onward Hennepin traveled a great deal in the western country, and relates his adventures in these two volumes.
