Acting as a way of salvation
By David L. Haberman
Subjects: Acting, Bhakti, Rupagosvami, 16th cent, Doctrines, Religious aspects of Acting, Hinduism, Chaitanya (Sect)
Description: The yoga of acting, viz. karma yoga is in total contrast to mainstream Indian philosophy requiring detachment and retirement from zhe world. A karma yogi uses the very actions on the way to salvation that contribute to the eternal bondage of the unemlightened. In practice, "karma yoga" means active and dedicated service to the guru.
