Description: Advocates that government policy should recognize and support the informal economy, viz. that portion of a nation's production and goods exchange which is conducted largely without the use of currency. A well-written critique of governmental policies which demote and belittle the contribution of the informal economy in Canada. The informal economy holds much promise in the north, particularly subsistence activities of the native peoples.
