Description: "Simplistically, one could say that art's site-specific field grew out of a resistance to art as a commodity. The art and the place became one and art became immobile and hard to sell. The principle at the time was articulated by the American artist Richard Serra in 1985: 'To remove the work is to destroy the work.' That the material also could consist of a combination of ready-mades, found objects or so called non-material developed the discussion of value in relation to manufacture and the significance of Who makes what in relation to quality, originality and idea"--Introduction.
