Description: This book is the English adaptation rather than translation of a former book by Jean-Pierre Mouchon on tenor Caruso's life, singing voice, art, technique, and linguistic abilities. A whole chapter (IV) is also dedicated to the causes of Caruso's death. There are photos and sonagrams in the text. This digest was published in 1974 four years before the author had his viva at La Sorbonne, Paris IV, in 1978. His important thesis in three volumes has been recently recast and enlarged and crammed with new facts, reviews, unpublished pictures and letters.
