Long Day Wanes a Malayan Trilogy

Long Day Wanes a Malayan Trilogy

By Anthony Burgess

Subjects: Colonial Asia, English Historical fiction, Fiction, general, Social Humor, Fiction, British, British and irish fiction (fictional works by one author), British Historical fiction

Description: A Malayan Trilogy follows the path of a British government worker in Malaysia in three time periods: colonial times, communist insurgency, and the coming of the Americans, all very humorously with a wild cast of characters. If you've ever had the pleasure of being an expatriate, you have quite an enlightening and enjoyable laugh out loud journey in this set of views of society and culture and its players. It may be the most narrative of Burgess' works, this and The Doctor is Ill, and is based on his experiences in Asia. The characters are a delight. I've read it three times and never tire of it.
