This is a story about a homicide detective who learns fast that life is about to go into a downward spiral, starting with his own fears of not being the man that he once foresaw himself to be. Michael's fast paced lifestyle is about to get even more interesting when he starts his first job, and within only a few months he learns what it fells like to see his first dead body, one of many to come. Michael soon loses someone he is very close to, Michael's sister, Maria CoVido. A lost [sic] that he never imagined would happen, never could he imagine that his whole life was about to be crushed by the love for his sister, which seem [sic] to vanish with her body in the ground, but it takes many months, and more to realize how much that not only did he refuse himself the grieving process, he also doesn't allow himself to love anyone else in fear of losing more loved ones. Michael's life soon starts to turn around when he finds the love of his life, Lilianna Angelina Massimo, a [sic] Unrequitted [sic] Love, one that may remain unrequited for all of eternity, which Michael soon comes to realize, in turn he looks for love in other places and finds it in two women at different times, first Katrina, and eventually Sarah, which turns out to be a nightmare of it's own. Eventually Michael becomes a Homicide detective on the sole basis to protect his family and serve his community. A protection that comes at a cost of many people [sic] lives, in his life, one that is so great that it nearly kills him, this is how we come to know that The Life Of Shadows, there are good people and bad people"--Pages [7-8].
