When his father is posted to an army camp near Hadrian's wall, Gaius can't believe his luck. A soldier's life is for him, he thinks, and he can't wait to explore. But there's more to army life than he thought. And when he and his dog get lost in the camp, Gaius wonders whether he will ever make a good Roman soldier.
