
Flat-tailed horned lizard (Phrynosoma mcallii) monitoring report

Description: Monitoring of the flat-tailed horned lizard (Phrynosoma mcallii) (FTHL) consisted of five projects in the field season of 2002: 1) a mark/recapture population estimate in the Yuha Management Area; 2) an attempted mark/recapture population estimate in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area; 3) twelve triangular transects in the eastern Yuha to record scat, FTHLs and vehicle routes; 4) the creation of a GIS generated map of all historic flat-tailed horned lizard sightings in Imperial and San Diego counties; and 5) the completion of vehicle impact monitoring in the Yuha Management Area.
