At ten years old, she was left after an enormous tragedy, to be raised by her Great-grandmother, in what most would call, the poor area of South Bend, Indiana. Struggling to find her identity in a world of sorrow, she had to remain strong. Most of her days were spent overwhelmed by sadness and intense emotional pain. Sorrow hidden beneath a half smile and a quiet tone, she endured. Trauma and pain would continue to become rooted into her life. Into adulthood pain presented a new set of problems.
