Subjects: World War, 1939-1945, Fiction, Military campaigns, Campaigns, Great Britain, Great Britain. Army
Description: The battle for Greece is over. Outgunned and outmanoeuvred by the relentless German advance, Lamb and his Jackals make the hazardous journey to the seemingly wonderful safe haven of Crete. But there they find a chaotic situation; divided command, leaderless disorganised units, restless partisans, the beleaguered King of Greece and his court, and numbers of civilian refugees, many of them British. Facing the awesome German paratroopers for the first time, the Jackals must fight alongside the chaotic troops on the island. An influx of high-ranking British irregulars, each with their own flamboyant style, lead the Jackals into a potentially deadly situation.
