Description: In January 2009, a new law went into effect that requires all first-time DUI offenders who wish to drive during the statutory summary suspension period to apply for a Monitoring Device Driving Permit (MDDP). The MDDP allows an offender to drive during the suspension period with a Breath Alcohol Interlock Device (BAIID) installed in his or her vehicles.
