Description: This draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) discussed the Outer Continental Shelf Office's proposal to sell 1,625,251 acres located offshore the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida to sell 286 wildcat tracts for the purpose of oil and gas drilling. In addition to describing selected issues such as impacts on air and water quality, commercial and recreational fishing, and shoreline recreation, this DEIS also examined alternatives to this sale, like delaying or withdrawing the sale and reducing the number of tracts for sale.
