Description: "Boothill's Ferryman" begins with a minor irritation. Link Tolliver, the new owner of Cobb's Ferry, has tripled the rates for the ferry and his speech and behavior, fueled by heavy drinking, offend the men and their families who must use the ferry. Sheriff Jack Masters gives Tolliver a warning, which he ignores. The situation escalates when Tolliver shoots a rancher and the sheriff is forced to take action. In "The Vermillion Kid," the Kid thought he was just passing through Holbrook. After he is insulted by Toma Dodge, the daughter of the owner of the D-Back-To-Back Ranch, Toma's father is robbed and murdered. The Kid volunteers to help her find the killer, only to find himself as the chief suspect. "The Plains of Laramie" finds Frank Travis riding north outside Laramie when he is chased by a group of men. Thinking he is being pursued by a gang of outlaws, he attempts to outrun them. When his horse is injured, he must take a stand and manages to kill the leader before being killed. The man Travis killed was the sheriff of Laramie, who was leading a posse pursuing a suspect in an express office robbery. When Parker Travis, Frank's brother, comes to Laramie, it becomes obvious that the posse killed an innocent man. Parker feels everyone in the posse is guilty of murder. Can he find justice for his brother before he shares a similar fate?
