Description: Black Gold is a highly original anthology of poems featuring works by a collective of nearly 100 authors who span multiple generations and represent voices from throughout communities of the African and Latino Diaspora. The contributors include noted veteran authors of the historical Black Arts Movement as [Sonia Sanchez][1], [Marvin X Jackmon][2], and the late Gil Scott-Heron to such celebrated contemporary voices as those of Evie Shockley, Opal Palmer Adisa, and [Aberjhani][3]. Unlike the Norton Anthology Series 2013 offering of [Angles of Ascent][4], the [Black Gold][5] anthology dares to step outside the canon of officially-recognized academic black poets to spotlight individuals who are as unflinching in their bold literary gaze as they are fierce in their passionate dance with language.
