Unlike the Norton Anthology Series 2013 offering of [Angles of Ascent][4], the [Black Gold][5] anthology dares to step outside the canon of officially-recognized academic black poets to spotlight individuals who are as unflinching in their bold literary gaze as they are fierce in their passionate dance with language.
