Description: In 1786-87 the farmer-veterans of the American Revolution took up arms again in Massachusetts, where the Revolution had begun, in order to protest laws in their state that made a mockery of their sacrifices for freedom. They were outraged at legislation. and particularly taxation, that discriminated against the hard-pressed laborers and favored he property-owners who had stayed at home during the war for freedom from tyranny and unjust taxation.
