Description: International migration management' is a new concept for understanding and rethinking migration flows. Throughout the world, governments and intergovernmental organizations, such as the International Organization for Migration, are developing new approaches aimed at renewing migration policy-making. This includes calls for cooperation between governments to govern migration flows; an understanding that migration is a normal process in a globalizing world rather than a problem; a 'post-control' spirit that goes beyond the restrictions on peoples' mobility to draft proactive policies; and a promotion of holistic approaches to migration, not only centred on security or labour, but also on development and human rights. -- Back cover.
