Description: Henry, born in New Jersey, went to Canada as a young man to engage in the fur trade. He was at Fort Michilimackinac during the 1763 massacre and was taken prisoner, but escaped. He continued to work in the fur trade on Lake Superior, and was for some years involved in a mining venture on the Ontonagon river.
