Sheikh and disciple

Sheikh and disciple

By M. R. Bawa Muhaiyaddeen

Subjects: Sufism, Sufism; spiritual teacher

Description: A description of the relationship between a spiritual teacher and the student who comes to study. This is a profound set of discourses by a consumate teacher, given orally in the Eastern manner. The talks were transcribed from recordings and are printed in sequence in book form. One comes to know the inner meaning of the Sufi path as taught for ages to disciples who are searching for meaning in their lives. As Bawa Muhaiyaddeen says in his introduction, "My children, for what reason have we gathered here together? One reason is love. Another is to discover a way to find peace for our hearts, and, in the time between our birth and death, to discover the connection between God and man, so that we can end the suffering in this life."
